The Police in Ondo State have deployed strategic teams in preparation for a peaceful and hitch-free Easter celebration in the state.

DSP Olushola Ayanlade, the command’s spokesperson made this known in a statement signed and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Akure.

According to Ayanlade, the deployment includes tactical teams, conventional policemen, and intelligence officers.

“The teams will be positioned at key locations such as worship centres, event venues, recreational areas, major highways, and other public places to ensure maximum security during the festive period.

“The Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, has directed all area commanders, divisional police officers, and heads of tactical units to intensify patrols, visibility policing and surveillance in their respective jurisdictions.

“The command urges the good people of Ondo State to remain law-abiding, celebrate responsibly, and cooperate with the police and other security agencies.

“We also encourage members of the public to report any suspicious movements or persons promptly to the nearest police station or via our emergency numbers,” he said.

Ayanlade, therefore, assured residents of the command’s commitment to the protection of lives and properties during and beyond the Easter season.

“We wish all citizens a safe and joyful Easter celebration,” he said.
