The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) said it invited 40 women to resume camp ahead of the Kwibuka Women Invitational tournament in Kigali, Rwanda.
A statement issued on Wednesday by NCF Spokesman, Musa Bodie, said the competition, slated for June 4 to June 13, was the flagship event to mark the beginning of women cricket calendar in Rwanda.
It said that the 40 players were expected to report on May 10 at the Goodluck Jonathan High Performance Hostel, MKO Abiola Stadium Abuja.
“Trial matches would also be conducted before a final squad would be selected for the tournament.
“The Women’s camp is expected to end on May 16. Successful players may be asked to remain for closed camping in preparation for the tournament.
“We will ensure that all relevant forms are filled and documents attached accordingly, as that will form the basis for admission into camp.
“NCF will ensure that all COVID-19 safety precaution will be strictly adhered to,” it said.
The invited players include: Blessing Nwobodo, Nafisat Abdullah, Augustina Benedict, Mary Desmond, Grace Ephraim, Blessing Frank, Salome Sunday, Blessing Etim, Esther Sandy, Sarah Etim and Omonye Asika.
Others are; Abigail Igbobie, Joy Efosa, Favour Esiegbe, Agatha Obulor, Piety Lucky, Oseyande Omonkhobio, Ogechi George, Peace Monday, Miracle Imimole and Chineyum George.
Supreme reports that Samantha Agazuma, Kehinde Abdulquadri, Taiwo Abdulquadri, Rachael Samson, among many others were also invited.
