A Karu Grade 1Area Court, sitting in Abuja on Wednesday ordered the remand of one Babngida Ibrahim in prison for allegedly stealing six plastic chairs worth N25,000.

The Judge, Anas Isa ordered that Ibrahim be remanded until Nov. 11, for the defendant to meet his bail conditions

The defendant is charged with theft.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecution Counsel, Olarewaju Osho, told the court that the defendant was arrested on Aug.3.

He said the defendant went into a church, located at Gbagbalape, Nyanya, Abuja and stole six plastic chairs, valued at N25,000, belonging to one pastor, Grace John.

He added that during police investigation, the defendant confessed to have stolen four chairs previously, which he sold at the rate of N400 to an unknown person.

He said the offence is contrary and punishable under section 288 of the Penal Code
