CAF Confederation Cup: Club official says Rangers capable of good result against Bantu FC

Norbert Okolie, the Media Officer of Rangers International Football Club, on Friday said the Nigerian Cup champions were capable of getting a good result against Bantu FC of Lesotho on Sunday.
Rangers will take on Bantu FC in Maseru in the first leg tie of their second round pairing in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup competition.
Speaking with Newsmen in Enugu, Okolie said he was optimistic of victory because the team’s players were fully focused and committed to the club’s cause.
“We have for now the target of reaching the group stage and Bantu FC cannot be a stumbling block for us.
“This is because we are well prepared to beat them on their ground at the Setsoto Stadium in Maseru and make the return leg a formality.’’
He said the players were focused on doing well, and the strikers particularly have promised to convert the goal scoring chances that would come their way.
Okolie said the players needed to take the game to their hosts and ensure they make the most of their chances in the match to enable them gain the upper hand.
“With an early goal we will be fired up to score more and teach Bantu FC what it takes to compete in the CAF competition.
“Some players like Bright Silas, Godwin Aguda, Nana Bonsu, team captain Okey Odita and others are injury-free and have promised not to underrate any club in the competition.
“Rangers are a household name in continental competition and in this ongoing competition we have not lost a match and we are not ready to lose any too.
“Right from our first match in this competition we have been doing well in away matches.
“So, there is the possibility of our qualifying for the group stage with a win in Lesotho, even before the return leg in Enugu,’’ Okolie said.
Supreme Magazine gather that Rangers beat Defence Force SC of Ethiopia 5-1on aggregate in the preliminary stage of this competition after winning 2-0 at home and 3-1 away.
Rangers went on to beat beating USM Bel Abbes of Algeria 2-0 on aggregate in the first round after a 0-0 draw away and a 2-0 home win.
