The Cross River State Signage and Advertising Agency (CRISSAA), has warned residents against pasting paper posters on buildings and open spaces in Calabar metropolis.
The warning is contained in a statement signed by the Director General of CRISSAA, Mr Effiom Effiwatt, on Thursday in Calabar.
According to the statement, the ban on the use of paper posters which took effect from 2011 Cross River remains in force.
“CRISSAA is saddled with the responsibility of regulating the advertisement and the entire outdoor sector of the state.
“We have seen, documented and removed several paper posters placed on public space across the metropolis by a group known as “The Caterpillar Movement” in violation of the ban on use of paper posters in the state.
“Political parties as well as sponsors of political movements should be aware that the proscribed fines for violation have been recorded against all defaulters.
“Also note that the guidelines/timetable for political campaigns and exposure has not been released by the relevant Federal Government agency.
“Henceforth, political parties and the general public are advised to admonish and educate their members accordingly.
“Violators will be made to face the full wrath of the law and appropriate fines will be enforced accordingly,” the statement read.
