The Kirikasamma Local Government of Jigawa says it has set up a committee to identify youths of the area with creative and innovative talents.
The council’s Information Officer, Mr Musa Muhammad, disclosed this in a statement issued in Dutse and made available to newsmen on Sunday.
Muhammad stated that the committee had Grema Mai-Musa as the Focal Person, while the area’s Head of Community Development, Information Officer, three representatives from educational institutions, three representatives from artisans groups, and Special Advisor on Education, would serve as members.
He explained that the committee was expected to tour the local government area to identify talented youths with specialised skills in creativity and innovation for advanced training.
Muhammad added that the Creative and Innovative Week programme, under the state Ministry of Higher Education, would select and train artisans, such as blacksmiths, carpenters, mechanics and others to enhance their skills.
According to him, the gesture is part of the initiatives of Gov. Umar Namadi’s administration toward improving creativity and innovation among youths with specialised skills in different spheres of life.
