Abubakar said: “GBB will continue to deepen its partnerships with local ICT companies across the country to ensure that more organizations at the state and local levels benefit from its connectivity rollout and digital services and solutions.

The Galaxy Backbone (GBB) says it is committed to deepening its partnerships with local information and communications technology (ICT) companies across the country.

The Managing Director of GBB, Prof. Muhammad Abubakar, spoke at the ongoing 10th general meeting of the National Council on Communications and Digital Economy.

The 5-day event is on the theme "Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship as a Panacea for Challenges to Sustainable Economic Development in Nigeria."

Abubakar said on Wednesday in Abuja that GBB would ensure organizations at the state and local levels benefit from its connectivity rollout and digital services and solutions.

Abubakar said: "GBB will continue to deepen its partnerships with local ICT companies across the country to ensure that more organizations at the state and local levels benefit from its connectivity rollout and digital services and solutions."

He said that the agency showcased its data center business e-Connect services at the general meeting, adding that they provide quality IT infrastructure and shared services for the federal government.

The managing director said, "GBB is also providing for the private sector its ICT infrastructure that would enhance and promote the government's digital services in a smart, secure, and sustainable manner."

"Through this, GBB is projecting the strength of its fiber connectivity services as a way to connect more people, improve the efficiency of businesses, and enhance the productivity of its clients."

"Among the services are its data center, cloud, and cybersecurity services, as well as smart home plans that offer fiber to homes, fiber to businesses, and fiber to small offices for those residing within the Federal Capital Territory."

Abubakar said GBB had uptime-certified Tier III and Tier IV data centers that were available and accessible for use by both public and private sector organizations.

This, he said, was for the purpose of supporting colocation, hosting, and disaster recovery for organizations.

Abubakar said that the huge investments that had gone into the infrastructure were for the benefit of public and private establishments.

He added: "The experience of GBB in building, deploying, and providing infrastructure as a service is a testimony to its ability to manage and continue in this line of business."

"Establishing and sustaining a secure and certified data center within the nation's public sector space is a great feat indeed."

"To strengthen its asset base and guarantee information assurance, GBB is now deploying state-of-the-art digital infrastructure and applying international best practices to backstop public sector organizations' sensitive data."

According to Abubakar, GBB enables a growing number of private sector organizations with digital services to facilitate their digital transformation journey.

"The level of professionalism on offer is coupled with about 12 years of experience as ISO 27001 and ISO 20000 compliant, and recently PCI DSS was certified to support the financial sector."

"This has become a reference point for other organizations that are considering getting on the GBB platform."

"The organization is using the exhibition to showcase its innovative services and partnerships to drive the nation's digital transformation agenda and the realization of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) 2020-2030," he said.
