Balogun elected chairman, Audio Visual Right Society
Nollywood Filmmaker/Producer, Mahmood Ali Balogun has been elected as the chairman of Audio Visual Right Society (AVRS) for two years.
Mr Sani Mu’azu, the Chairman, Publicity Committee of the society, said in a statement on Thursday.
Balogun, managing director of Brickwall communications limited is popular for his multiple award-winning films, ‘Tango With Me’ which starred Joseph Benjamin and Genevieve Nnaji.
He also worked as a film consultant on the smash hit romantic comedy Flower Girl which was the highest grossing Nigerian film in 2013.
NAN reports that the Audio-Visual Rights Society of Nigeria (AVRS) is a collective management organisation for cinematograph works in Nigeria.
AVRS is empowered under the Extant Laws, to engage in the issuance of licenses on behalf of copyright owners in the film industry, for public and commercial use of films.
