Zverev misses Wimbledon quarter-finals

Alexander Zverev continues to wait for his first quarter-final at Wimbledon after losing to Felix Auger-Aliassime 4-6 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 6-3 4-6 on Monday.

World number six Zverev put on a mixed performance over around four hours.

Zverev had qualified for the round of 16 for the second time since 2017, but was eliminated as then.

He has already reached the last eight of the three other Grand Slam tournaments —- the US Open, French Open and Australian Open.

Earlier on Monday, fellow German Angelique Kerber reached the quarter-finals by defeating 17-year-old American Coco Gauff 6-4 6-4.
