The Radio Television and Theatre Art Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) has urged Kaduna residents to support the peaceful protest by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).
The National President of RATTAWU, Comrade Kabir Garba-Tsanni made the call on Tuesday during the procession in Kaduna.
Speaking to newsmen at the sideline of the event, Garba-Tsanni said the procession and withdrawal of essential services in the state was for the benefit of all.
“We will continue to enforce the decision of the NLC for the stipulated five days, unless the Kaduna Government reverses its actions, we will continue with the next line of action the NLC takes.’’
Garba-Tsanni urged people of the state to bear with the temporary hardship due to the strike, especially the power outage.
“We are really sad with this development and we are urging the people of Kaduna State to rally round to support the entire process.
“This is because if nothing is done especially from the Kaduna Government, then we will go on a national strike.’’
He appreciated the support of the media to the strike.
“As far as we are concerned, the journalists are with us and not the government, we urge you to remain objective and diligent in discharging your duties”, Garba-Tsanni said.
The RATTAWU president called on his members to remain steadfast until the end of the warning strike action.
