The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has got a new commandant, Mr Okoro Eweka.
Supreme reports that Eweka is replacing the outgoing commandant, Mr Phillip Ayuba.
Addressing the officers and men of NSCDC at its state command headquarters, Akure, the new commandant promised to work round the clock to rid the state of criminal activities.
Eweka said that the command would continue to safeguard all government critical national assets and infrastructure, intensify its intelligence gathering, monitoring and supervision of private guard companies as well as crisis management.
“We will continue to synergise with other sister agencies to combat all forms of criminality in Ondo State,” he said.
The new commandant also appealed to the civil populace to always provide the agency with credible intelligence that could lead to the arrest of criminally-minded persons in the state.
“Let me advise parents and guardians to refrain their children and wards from engaging in vandalism and destruction of property and amenities, as anyone caught in such unscrupulous behaviour will face the full wrath of the law,” he warned.
In his remarks, the outgoing commandant thanked the NSCDC Commandant-General, Mohammed Gana, for the opportunity given to him to serve in the state.
Ayuba urged the NSCDC personnel in the state to cooperate with his successor in ensuring adequate provision of security to the residents.
