Nigeria International Taekwondo Open: Taekwondo bronze medalist eyes gold

Dairus Danlami, the 2017 Korean Ambassador’s Cup bronze medalist says he is training hard to clinch gold medal at the upcoming World Taekwondo,Nigeria International Open in Abuja from Feb 8. to Feb.10.

Danlami told Newsmen in Abuja that: “I am for the gold medal at the Nigeria International Taekwando Open. I am confident that I am capable and fit enough to clinch the gold medal.

“I do not know or care who I will be meeting, but with the intensity of training that I am undergoing and my natural strength, I am sure that I can overcome any opponent at the Nigeria Open.’’

Danlami also said he was looking forward to become a great taekwondo athlete, adding that this was part of the reason why he was training very hard every day and putting in everything to achieve the goal.

“I put in everything in me, my body, mind and spirit. Sometimes, I face challenges like injuries, lack of finances, but I do not allow it distract me from achieving my goal of become a great athlete.’’
