he Police on Thursday docked a 36-year-old man, Hitama Ogbenyi, at a Karu Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing a cell phone worth N15,000.

Ogbenyi, who resides at Delta Hotel, Nyanya, Abuja, is facing a charge of theft, an offence he denied committing.

The Prosecutor, Olarewaju Osho, told the court that the defendant was arrested on Aug. 6.

Osho said the defendant invited and took one lady, Mary Monday, to the above mentioned address and fraudulently collected her Vivo model cell phone, valued N15,000.

He said the offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 287 of the Penal Code.

The Judge, Isa Anas, however, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 and one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until Oct. 14 for hearing.
