A 35-year-old seamstress, Madonna Chukwuhas appeared before a Kubwa Grade I Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly intimidating her colleague.
The Prosecution Counsel, John Okpa, told the court that the complainant, Anna Francis, reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station on March 17.
Okpa said that the defendant without any provocation, threatened to eliminate the complainant before December.
He said the defendant and the complainant are both tailors who share the same shop for their business.
The prosecution counsel said the defendant's threat put the complainant in a state of fear of death or injury.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 397 of the Penal Code.
The defendant however, pleaded not guilty.
The Defence Counsel, Francis Amadi, prayed the court to admit his client to bail pursuant to section 168 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), saying the defendant had been on administrative bail and has not jumped bail.
The judge, Muhammad Adamu, granted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety whom must reside within the court's jurisdiction.
He said the address of the surety must be verified by the prosecution counsel and adjourned the case until May 4 for hearing.
