Ramon Abbas, AKA Hushpuppi, a popular Instagram influencer, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Hushpuppi was sentenced to 11 years in prison for fraud and money laundering by the United States Central District Court in California on Friday.

Remember that Hushpuppi was arrested in June 2020 in Dubai for running a massive fraud scheme that defrauded victims in the United States, Qatar, the United Kingdom, and other countries.

He was subsequently extradited to the United States, where he was charged with fraud and money laundering, as well as hacking, impersonation, scamming, financial fraud, and identity theft on many counts.

He did, however, plead guilty to conspiracy to engage in money laundering. Hushpuppi will now serve only nine years in prison, having already served two years in prison in the United States.

Hushpuppi had already written to Judge Otis Wright, detailing his source of income, criminal exploits, and regrets. He thanked the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for its comprehensive investigation and apologized to his family.
