 Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed 11 persons to the country’s council of state to counsel him in his second term.

This is according to a statement issued by the office of the president.

The members include the immediate past chairman of the council of state, who worked with the president during his first term in office.

The full composition of the council will be complete with the election of the regional representatives in accordance with Article 89(2)(c), due to be held on Feb. 12.

The council of state is to among other things counsel the president in the performance of his functions.

It may also upon request or on its own initiative, consider and make recommendations on any matter being considered or dealt with by the president, a minister of state, parliament or any other authority.
