Residents of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have appealed to the state government to tackle water scarcity by providing pipe-borne water and sinking more boreholes in communities in the area.
Alhaji Ubangari Umar, leader of the four wards in the area, made the appeal on Thursday when they visited Alhaji Muluku Agah, the state Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, in Lafia.
Supreme news reports that the wards comprised Eggon/Alizaga, Ummeh, Alogani, and Aguji/Ogbagi.
He said that providing pipe-borne water and sinking more boreholes in the communities would tackle water scarcity and improve the standard of living of the people.
Umar said that the visit was to congratulate Agah on his appointment as commissioner.
He appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for providing water projects in the state and appealed for more to tackle water scarcity in the area.
” We want to use this medium to appeal for more water projects to tackle water scarcity in Nasarawa Eggon local government area,” he said
Umar assured the commissioner of their loyalty and support to Gov. Sule`s administration.
Responding, Agah appreciated them for the visit and assured them of more water projects not only in Nasarawa Eggon but the state at large.
He said that Sule’s administration has consistently shown commitment to providing water in rural communities across the state,” he said
The commissioner called on them and other people of the state to continue to support the governor.
