Matawalle donates N5m, foodstuffs to family of late Emir of Gusau

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, on Sunday donated N5 lmillion and assorted food items to the family of late Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello.

Supreme news reports that the late emir died on Friday after a protracted illness.

The minister’s delegation for the condolence led by the former Deputy Governor, Sen. Hassan Nasiha, presented the money and foodstuffs to the bereaved family.

Matawalle said that apart from cash donation, he also gave the family 20 bags of rice, 10 bags of millet, 10 bags of maize, and 10 bags of guinea corn.

He described the late emir as a leader with extraordinary qualities in handling his subjects.

“The emir’s death has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.

“The late emir always preached for the promotion of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam (Peace Be Upon Him).

“During his lifetime, he trained a lot of orphans under his care, who are now useful to the society,” Matawalle added.

He prayed the Almighty Allah to forgive the late emir and reward his soul with Jannatul Firdaus and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Receiving the delegation and the items on behalf of the family, the District Head of Tsunami and Chiroman Gusau, Alhaji Mainasara Bello, thanked the minister for the gesture, describing it as a ‘generous’ gift which came timely in the palace’s time of grief.

He said the emirate would always remember Matawalle for his respect to the traditional council, especially during his time as a Governor.
