Lawmakers urge wealthy Nigerians to assist needy, less privileged

The lawmaker, however, urged the beneficiaries to use the items to improve their lives positively.

A member of the Nassarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Muluku Agah, has urged kind hearted Nigerians to remember the needy and less privileged as they are celebrating Eid-el-Kabir.

Agah, representing Nassarawa Eggon East Constituency, made the call on Saturday in Nassarawa Eggon.

He said that such gesture would assist in improving their standard of living and give them a sense of belonging.

Muluku, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Planning, Budget and SDGs, urged Muslims to continue to pray for peace, unity and progress of the country.

He said that no nation achieved progress without peace and unity, hence, his call in that direction.

"I want to urge the people of my constituency, the state and Nigeria at large, to reflect on the significance of Eid-el-Kabir as they are celebrating the 2022 festival.

"Let's all continue to preach the message of peace and unity as well embrace them at all times for development to thrive.

"No society can achieve speedy development without peace, as peace is priceless and non-negotiable," he said.

Muluku urged his constituents and the state at large to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ( PVCs) to enable them to vote for credible leaders comes 2023 and beyond.

In a related development,

member representing Kokona West Constituency at the House, Mr Danladi Jatau, has distributed 200 bags of 25kg rice and N1 million cash to his constituents in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir.

Jatau, the Chairman, House Committee on Public Complaints, Petition and Security, distributed the items on Saturday to the beneficiaries in Garaku, Kokona Local Government area of the state.

He said that the gesture was to improve on the standard of living of Muslims during and after the Sallah celebration.

The lawmaker, however, urged the beneficiaries to use the items to improve their lives positively.

"I will continue to put smiles on your faces and the faces of other people of my constituency at all times.

"This is to improve your standard of living before, during and after Sallah celebration," he said.

Jatau assured them of his continued commitment to providing the dividends of democracy at all times.

"I will continue to provide the much needed dividends of democracy to you and other people of my constituency in order to change your lives positively," he said.

The lawmaker also assured them of sound quality representation at the state legislature.

He called on his constituents and the state at large to support him and Gov. Abdullahi Sule's adminsitration to succeed beyond 2023.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Adamu Zakari and Mr Agye Ekpeji, appreciated Jatau for the gesture and called for its sustenance.

They assured the lawmakers of their prayers and supports for him at all times.
