The Presidency has dismissed as false reports claiming that President Bola Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, with the Principal Private Secretary, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

The Presidency described the report, which has been circulating widely on social media, as a fabrication aimed at creating disaffection within government.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Thursday in Lagos.

“There is absolutely no truth to this story. We advise Nigerians to disregard it entirely,” Onanuga said.

“The Chief of Staff remains in his position.

“The Principal Private Secretary likewise remains in his role. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has not replaced Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff,” Onanuga said.

The Presidency said the claim was the handiwork of mischievous purveyors of fake news whose intention was to sow discord and mislead the public.

It reiterated the need for media organisations and social media users to verify information before publishing or sharing unverified reports.

The Presidency urged Nigerians to rely on official channels for accurate information on government activities.
