Three organisations of survey experts from partner networks with a foreign focus reported that foreigners in Germany are worried about rising cases of racism in the country.
The organsations has on Thursday published that non-Germans are increasingly concerned about what they see as a rise in racism in Germany.
A joint study by three major German cultural, developmental and aid organisations carried a survey between January and March 2021.
The organisation made use of an online questionnaire of 622 people from 37 countries and follow-up interviews with 48 experts in 24 countries.
“Populist and extremist tendencies are increasing in Germany no other risk area is debated abroad in as many diverse ways.
“It was compiled by the Goethe Institute, which promotes the study of the German language and culture around the world.
“The GIZ society for international cooperation, an independent development agency that works largely for the government.
Those surveyed spoke of less tolerance and friendliness during stays in Germany, they have an increased feeling that they were not welcome,’’ the survey found.
They also found that the infrastructure for entrepreneurial innovation was lacking and that there were too many academic obstacles and hierarchies at universities.
But the respondents saw the German political system in a favorable light and perceived Germany as an economic powerhouse within the European Union.
