Drug processing laboratory discovered, destroyed in Western Afghanistan

Afghan police have uncovered and dismantled a drug-processing laboratory in the country’s western Nimroz Province, authorities said on Wednesday.

According to provincial police spokesperson, Mawlawi Gul Mohammad Qudrat, the facility was located in the Dilaram District during an operation carried out on Tuesday.

The raid followed a tip-off, enabling police to identify and storm the site.

In addition to destroying the laboratory, officers recovered a large quantity of illicit materials from the location, Qudrat said.

No further details were immediately available regarding arrests or the exact nature office the substances seized.

Authorities said that the investigations into the case were ongoing.
