Remaining 23 passengers on Abuja-Kaduna train freed at last
The seven-member presidential committee constituted by the CDS, Gen. Lucky Irabor, secured the release and custody of all 23 remaining passengers taken captive by Boko Haram terrorists following the March 28 attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train.
The Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee (CDSAC) has announced the release of all 23 remaining Abuja-Kaduna train passengers kidnapped on March 28 by terrorists.
The release of the hostages was achieved on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by CDSAC Secretary Prof. Usman Yusuf.
"I am glad to announce to the nation and the globe that at 1600Hrs (4:00pm) today, Wednesday, 5-10-2022.
"The seven-member presidential committee constituted by the CDS, Gen. Lucky Irabor, secured the release and custody of all 23 remaining passengers taken captive by Boko Haram terrorists following the March 28 attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train."

Meanwhile, Maj.-Gen. Jimmy Akpor, Director of Defence Information, acknowledged the development in a brief message.
