Mr Raji Rasak, Badagry District Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Tuesday bagged the most Supportive National Media of the Year Award.Mr Solomon Zosu, the Publisher, Badagry Parrot Media, said the award was presented to Rasak because of his contributions and support to people of Badagry in Lagos State.

“Rasak’s objective reporting has helped in finding lasting solutions to some of the major challenges confronting Badagry communities.“The District Correspondent has consistently and skillful projected Badagry to the world recently, working closely with prominent grassroots media houses and journalists.“He has consistently written stories on the deplorable state of Badagry-Lagos Expressway; Seme light restoration, the arrest and release of three ‘fix Badagry-Lagos Expressway’ conveners.

“Rasak is always everywhere in the coastal communities doing what he knows best, that is news coverage.“The award is to let him continue doing the good work,” Zosu said.He thanked NAN management for giving the coastal communities more attention in their reportage of activities.Receiving the award, Rasak thanked organiser of the award for recognising his efforts in the costal communities.

He said that the award would spur him to do more in covering various developmental programmes in the areas.Also, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Pioneer, Real Act of Kindness (RAK) Foundation, one of the awardees, urged people to bring developmental programmes to Badagry.“Whatever good things you know how to do, do it with all your heart; a day will come that you will be rewarded for your actions,” he said.

Also, Mr Wusu Babatunde, Founder of Ejalonibu Foundation, also an awardee, said the award was a call for him to do more.“This is a challenge to humanity,” Babatunde said.Supreme reports that other awardees are: Olu Kosoko Foundation- COVID-19 Hero Award; Alhaji Fatai Shokunbi of Badagry Country Club and Mrs Sewede Pot-Balogun Olorunfemi, the Coordinator, Badagry Development Women Foundation.
