 The Enugu State Chairman of Taekwondo Association, Ebere Amaraizu, says the game has immense disciplinary benefits especially to young people that engage in it.

Amaraizu told Newsmen that the game was originally tailored to impact flexibility, balance, muscle tone, coordination and endurance to the body.

According to Amaraizu, Taekwondo has been identified as a sport which is beyond kicking and punching.

He said: “It helps to inculcate confidence, self control, memory retention and adaptation as well as problem solving.

“It also builds patience, respect, integrity, humility and perseverance.’’

The chairman also encouraged parents to allow their children engage in Taekwondo classes and clinics.

“This will enable them imbibe discipline, good morals and values that can help them add positively to the society,’’
