19th NSF cricket: Anambra men beat FCT to win the bronze

 

Anambra male cricket team on Friday defeated their FCT counterparts by 2 wickets to win the bronze for cricket in the ongoing National Sports Festival (NSF) in Abuja.

In the first innings, FCT scored 103 runs for the loss of 8 Wickets after 20 overs while Anambra scored 105 runs for the loss of 8 Wickets after 19 overs in the second innings.

Anambra’s chezona Ifechelobi emerged man of the match having scored 54 Runs off 50 balls.

Tonye Timinadi, an official of Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), told the Press that the game was a very good one.

Timinadi commended the officials and players for fair play, saying that cricket was one of the best games in the world.

He particularly thanked Nigeria’s cricket federation for making the game thrive in the country.
